Alloying Of Titanium Tubes
- Nov 09, 2018 -

Titanium alloys are alloys made of titanium based on the addition of other elements.

Titanium has two homogeneous crystals: 882 ℃ Below is a dense row of six square structure Alpha titanium, 882 ℃ or more of the body Heart cube of beta Titanium.

Alloy elements can be divided into three categories according to their effect on phase change temperature: The elements that ① stabilize the alpha phase and increase the phase transition temperature are alpha stable elements, including aluminum, carbon, oxygen and nitrogen.

Aluminium is the main alloy element of titanium alloy, which has obvious effect on improving the normal temperature and high temperature strength, reducing the specific gravity and increasing the elastic modulus of the alloy. The elements of ② stable beta phase and reducing phase change temperature are beta stable elements, which can be divided into two types of crystalline and co-analytic.

Products with titanium alloys applied

The former has molybdenum, niobium, vanadium and so on; the latter has chromium, manganese, copper, iron, silicon and so on.③ elements that have little effect on phase change temperature are neutral elements, such as zirconium and tin. Oxygen, nitrogen, carbon and hydrogen are the main impurities of titanium alloys. Oxygen and nitrogen have a large solubility in the alpha phase, which has a significant enhancement effect on titanium alloys, but it causes plasticity to decrease. It is usually stipulated that the content of oxygen and nitrogen in titanium is below 0.15~0.2% and 0.04~0.05%, respectively. Hydrogen in the alpha phase solubility is very small, titanium alloy dissolved too much hydrogen will produce hydride, so that the alloy becomes brittle. The hydrogen content in titanium alloys is usually controlled below 0.015%. The dissolution of hydrogen in titanium is reversible and can be removed by vacuum annealing
